Construtoras de Futuros | Future Builders

No dia 8 de março, o Clube de Programação e Robótica participou no evento Construtoras de Futuros, no âmbito do Dia da Mulher, organizado pelo Ciência Viva do Pavilhão do Conhecimento. A nossa equipa era formada pelos alunos Diana Peralta, Beatriz Bogalho e Emanuel Santos. O evento propunha que os alunos construissem algo artístico ou funcional a partir de lixo eletrónico. 

O projeto escolhido pelos alunos consistiu na construção de uma maquete de uma garagem com um extrator de gases e uma ventoinha que permitia a entrada de ar puro. O portão abre e fecha através de um leitor de CDs de um computador que já não funcionava. O extrator e a ventoinha tem um botão que liga e desliga. Existe um botão que permite abrir e fechar o portão. Os botões foram retirados de um secador de cabelo avariado.

Este experiência foi importante sobretudo para as nossas alunas, pois permitiu-lhes utilizar ferramentas que nunca tinham experimentado: martelo, chaves de fendas, pistola de cola quente, ferro de soldar, aparafusadoras elétricas, multímetro, ... Permitiu-lhes perceber como funcionam alguns componentes eletrónicos como: ventoinas, botões, ... Perceber qual a constituição de computadores fixos, secadores de cabelo, chaleiras, colunas e microondas. E aprender algumas normas de segurança quando se lida com componentes eletrónicos: uso de luvas e óculos, extrator de gases provocados pelo uso de solda, ...

Os nossos alunos mostraram-se sempre muito empenhados no desenvolvimento do seu projeto. O empenho demonstrado pelos nossos alunos foi tal, que a aluna Beatriz Bogalho foi entrevistada pela CMTV. Os alunos obtiveram o 1º lugar! Parabéns!

On March 8, the Programming and Robotics Club participated in the event Future Builders, within the scope of Women's Day, organized by Ciência Viva at the Pavilhão do Conhecimento. Our team was formed by students Diana Peralta, Beatriz Bogalho and Emanuel Santos. The event proposed that students build something artistic or functional from electronic waste.

The project chosen by the students consisted of building a model of a garage with a gas extractor and a fan that allowed fresh air to enter. The gate opens and closes through a CD player on a computer that no longer works. The extractor and the fan have a button that turns on and off. There is a button that allows you to open and close the gate. The buttons were removed from a damaged hair dryer.

This experience was especially important for our students, as it allowed them to use tools they had never tried: hammer, screwdrivers, hot glue gun, soldering iron, electric screwdrivers, multimeter, ... It allowed them to understand how they work some electronic components such as: fans, buttons, ... Understand what constitutes fixed computers, hair dryers, kettles, columns and microwaves. And learn some safety rules when dealing with electronic components: wearing gloves and glasses, extracting gases caused by the use of welding, ...

Our students were always very committed to the development of their project. The commitment shown by our students was such that student Beatriz Bogalho was interviewed by CMTV. The students got the 1st place! Congratulations!

Centro Escolar de Turquel | Turquel School Center

No dia 27 de fevereiro decorreu uma disseminação do projeto Erasmus+ KA229 Friendly Robotics for a Future Green World, nos dias abertos do Centro Escolar de Turquel. 

Os alunos da nossa escola dinamizaram uma atividade para os alunos do pré-escolar. A atividade consistiu em transformar um dos alunos num robot que seguia indicações dadas por outro. Tinha como tema a reciclagem e os alunos, em pares, tinham de conseguir conduzir o "robot" ao eco-ponto correto. 

Em seguida, o professor Samuel Branco fez uma apresentação sobre robótica para os alunos do 1º, 2º, 3º 4º ano. Foram discutidas com os alunos as noções de robótica e de robots. Foram apresentados 3 projetos: controlo do ambiente de uma casa, estufa do futuro e Protege as abelhas. 

Os alunos do Centro Escolar de Turquel participaram nas atividades com muito empenho e interesse.

On the 27th of February, the Erasmus + KA229 Friendly Robotics for a Future Green World project took place during the open days of the Turquel School Center.

The students at our school organized an activity for pre-school students. The activity consisted of transforming one of the students into a robot that followed instructions given by another. The theme was recycling and students, in pairs, had to be able to lead the "robot" to the correct eco-point.

Then, teacher Samuel Branco gave a presentation on robotics to students in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades. The notions of robotics and robots were discussed with the students. 3 projects were presented: control of the environment of a house, greenhouse of the future and Protect the bees.

The students at the Turquel School Center participated in the activities with great commitment and interest.

Escola Bandeira Azul | Blue Flag Scholl

O ECB É UMA ESCOLA BANDEIRA AZUL

O dia 6 de fevereiro, no ECB, ficou marcado pelo hastear da nossa bandeira Escola Azul.

Agradecemos a toda a comunidade escolar e às entidades locais que se fizeram representar neste momento tão importante. Contamos com a colaboração de todos no desenvolvimento deste novo projeto.

No âmbito das parcerias Escola Azul, depois da sessão, as turmas C e D, do 8.º ano e D do 10.º assistiram a uma sessão sobre sustentabilidade marinha que contou com a presença da bióloga Carla Tabaio, da Docapesca e com o surfist profissional, Hugo Vau.

ECB IS A BLUE FLAG SCHOOL

The 6th of February, at ECB, was marked by the raising of our Blue School banner.

We thank the entire school community and the local entities that were represented at this very important moment. We count on the collaboration of all in the development of this new project.

Within the scope of the Escola Azul partnerships, after the session, classes C and D, from the 8th year and D from the 10th, attended a session on marine sustainability that was attended by biologist Carla Tabaio, from Docapesca and with the professional surfist, Hugo Vau.

LLT Turquia: 5º dia | LLT Turkey: 5th day

No último dia, acordámos com neve que nos acompanhou ao longo das visitas culturais, desta vez na região de Denizli. Visitámos Pamukkale (constituido por terraços de água termal com temperaturas que rondam os 30 graus)  e a cidade antiga de Hierapolis (tem um teatro romano para cerca de 10000 pessoas, bem conservado e tem uma piscina de água termal onde a Cleópatra tomava banhos de rejuvenescimento).

Foi também dia de despedidas, primeiro da Estónia e depois dos restantes países.

On the last day, we woke up with snow that accompanied us throughout the cultural visits, this time in the Denizli region. We visited Pamukkale (consisting of thermal water terraces with temperatures around 30 degrees) and the ancient city of Hierapolis (has a Roman theater for about 10,000 people, well maintained and has a thermal water pool where Cleopatra used to rejuvenate baths ).

It was also a farewell day, first from Estonia and then from the rest of the countries.

Os workshops com o mbot continuaram no quarto dia, continuam a estudar como usar e programar os diversos sensores. Os alunos realizaram diversos desafios, com bastante empenho e motivação. 

No final do dia, decorreu um workshop relacionado com artes onde todos os participantes criaram uma escultura representativa de um robot.

The mbot workshops continued on the fourth day, continuing to study how to use and program the various sensors. The students performed several challenges, with a lot of commitment and motivation.

At the end of the day, an art-related workshop took place where all participants created a representative sculpture of a robot.

LLT em Turquia: 3º dia | LLT in Turkey: 3rd day

No terceiro dia fizémos várias visitas culturais na região de Izmir.

Da parte da manhã, em Selçuk, visitámos a Casa da Virgem Maria (é assim chamada porque se considera ser a última casa onde esta viveu) e a cidade de Ephesus (capital de vários impérios, património da humanidade da UNESCO em 2015 e possui um dos maiores teatros e uma grande biblioteca da época).

Durante o almoço tivémos oportunidade de provar o tradicional Kebab turco. 

Da parte da tarde, visitámos a turística vila de Sirince. Esta vila era uma importante fonte de água para a cidade de Ephesus, é protegida por ser um dos raros exemplos da arquitetura cristã otomana. Nos dias de hoje, as fontes de rendimento são a agricultura (azeite, vinho e fruta) e o turismo.

On the third day we made several cultural visits in the Izmir region.

In the morning, in Selçuk, we visited the House of the Virgin Mary (it is called that way because it is considered to be the last house where she lived) and the city of Ephesus (capital of several empires, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2015 and has one of the largest theaters and a large library at the time).

During lunch we had the opportunity to taste the traditional Turkish kebab.

In the afternoon, we visited the tourist village of Sirince. This village was an important source of water for the city of Ephesus, is protected for being one of the rare examples of Ottoman Christian architecture. Nowadays, the sources of income are agriculture (olive oil, wine and fruit) and tourism.
